Critiques

I really liked this. I always like to see when Dante decides to be a little sincere and mature, which usually seems to be when someone he cares about it hurting a bit. The only thing I wish about this chapter was that we got more insight into what exactly was bothering Nero. I don't expect him to ha...

The technique as always in your writing is amazing, all the little details, comparisons and descriptions. It makes it very easy to imagine and very clear so of course that's done well :) I've seen this kind of concept before of course that's not new, it's all a basis on how you tackle it and I think ...

1. When did you discover you enjoyed writing?
I really learned that I enjoyed writing when we had to write a short horror story in my 5th grade class. I really really enjoyed it though at the time I couldn't figure out why I liked it so much, it was suppose to be homework, right!?

2. What are your strengths in writing?
Oh god, I don't know. *slams head on keyboard* I have no idea really at all what my strengths are. I have good grammar skills? :lmao: Um, I guess I do a lot of research for stories? I have to look up tons of things about wounds and injuries for instance, I've researched topics from night terrors and PTSD to historical events because nothing bothers me more than not having the facts straight. I feel like it ruins the immersion for someone out there if I'm wrong and they know better so I try very hard to be correct.

3. What are your weaknesses in writing?
I am horrible, horrible, horrible at writing what I consider 'NPCs' They're like...crowds of people, or just other people in general that  are not fleshed out, because they're not vital to the story-they're just there. So it's hard for me to write them without giving them a little background and motivation and I'm usually too damn lazy and they come across as cardboard because...well...they pretty much are. That's why I usually stick to more...simple situations involving about 4 fleshed out characters or less.

4. What is your favourite genre to write in?
Fantasy, for sure. I hate writing just...humans in a real world kind of setting, I really have no idea what to do with them. All my stories have to do with werewolves, vampires, shifters, witches, demons, half-demons, etc. Usually these kinds of characters still fall under the limitations of our world-er, they live in our world so like...urban fantasy.

5. Do you consider yourself a good writer?
Yeah, I think so. I've always tried to get better and be better and I love writing in itself. I try to take constructive criticism when it's given and turn it around to help me.

Do you like to let a lot of people in real life read your work?
Nah, I used to share them with my boyfriend and my best friend, but they don't seem to be all that interested anymore, so really it's just you lucky folks on the internets when I feel like sharing.

7. How often do you write?
Oh lord, every day. Just not the same way I used to write. I used to do a lot of writing for myself (i.e. fanfiction) but I have a lot of RP partners now and so writing now mostly consists of thinking up starters and replies and not so much fleshing out an entire story arc on my own. I suppose I should miss it but I don't really. I've been busy a lot in RL with things going on and I just don't have as much time to devote to story planning.

8. Who are your favourite authors and why?
Kelley Armstong-by far my favorite, she comes up with fantastic stories and always with a twist that you never see coming. I think I own almost every one of her books and short stories and I love to read them when I get some free time. I also like Jim Butcher's Dresden Files series, Harry is a great, constantly developing, protagonist and I love seeing his beliefs challenged and often seeing them change from these challenges. I have so many more, but I'll stick with these two. I learn a lot about writing from reading books I just wish I had more time to read more books!

9. Do you have any OC's? If so, describe your favourite ones.
...I have an entire excel spreadsheet devoted to OCs. I would love to list them all but I'll give a general overview and talk a little about my favorites. For instance, I have a set of 2 werewolf packs, each with about 4-5 members. I have a group of vampires and a police unit all inhabiting this little world I have made for them :XD: This is the stuff that doesn't really get shared with anyone.
My favorite character to use is definitely Kyle he's a Spartan vampire who's been around for the better part of two-thousand years, he's almost the exact opposite of me in terms of temperament. He's extremely extroverted, a friendly, outgoing, life-of-the-party kind of guy which makes him a challenge and a lot of fun to write for me.
Another favorite of mine is Tarren Hartman. He's a shapeshifter on his mother's side and some sorcerer blood from his father. He grew up in a werewolf pack with his twin brother before moving to the city and becoming a cop. I dunno why I just love him a lot. He's a big sweetie and it's kind of a shame I don't use him all that much.

10. Do you write fan-fiction? If so, for which fandoms?
Yeah in the Devil May Cry fandom for the last several years before that it was things like Sonic the Hedgehog and Super Smash Brothers fanfiction. I've been in the fanfic game for a very loooong time :XD: Oh god please don't look up any of those old stories, I was like thirteen. :lmao:

11. Do you prefer writing by hand or typing?
I do a little of both really. I don't have a computer (or tablet or smartphone) with me all the time so I carry a notebook for when I have time to write a little away from home. I really like the feel of pen on paper, there's something satisfying about it, but it's a lot easier to add, remove and edit things on a computer, and I type really quickly, so I like to type too. I think typing wins out most of the time just because of the aforementioned perks, but everything written on paper gets typed up eventually anyway.

12. Are you a huge critic when it comes to writing?
Oh dear, more now than I used to be honestly. It's not like I go out of my way to give criticism but if someone asks me for something constructive I try my best to give it as thoroughly as possible. I've been finding I'm more picky about the books I read as well, if I find something particularly insipid I sometimes will write a bad review to warn people away from it :XD:

13. What format do you like to write in the most? (Prose, short story, vignette, poetry, etc.)
Story, obviously. I don't enjoy poetry and I never, ever have. I don't like to read it and I REALLY hate writing it (at my school that was almost all we had in English-write poetry. Man I suck at poetry. Tell me to write you a 3 page story instead, please?) So yeah, I've always preferred the short story format and if it gets longer I'm happy with that too.

My icon was done for me as a prize from :iconscubacat17: and it shows both me as a werewolf and vampire for I love them both :3
I am usually a kind person and I don't go out of my way to be cruel to anyone, the only time I'm nasty to someone is if they are way out of line (like trolls). I show respect to everyone unless I am disrespected. I would really like to make friends, but I'm shy. Feel free to drop me a note or post on my wall and I'll gladly talk to you, I'm not so good at initiating conversations myself :)
I know I'm not very good at art, if you pop by and fave some of my work though, I'd love to hear what you have to say about it-good or bad. What I really excel in is writing. What I have here so far is mostly Devil May Cry, mostly DantexNero fanfiction, hopefully I'll find some people who enjoy it!
That's about all I suppose for now. Take a look through my gallery and drop me a note!

Do you still plan to do more Dante and Nero fanfics? I'm sure you're probably tired of writing about them after Ebony and Ivory, but I just wanted to know if one of my favorite Dante/Nero authors has decided to call it quits Bucktooth

I dunno to be honest. I haven't had the bug to write anything involving them. I love 'em to pieces but recently I guess I've been getting my fix RPing on Tumblr. I just don't know what's left to explore. I've been trying to write some AUs with them but...yeah, for now I'm still on a break :3

Yeah, I have the same issue. I'd write a story about them, but it just seems like all the ideas with them have already been done. I don't like to write unless I know it's unique from the other stories =/ I started out RPing them long ago, but after my long time RP partner started disappearing for months at a time, I started reading fanfiction. Now I've read all the good stories and I'm left with nothing to do but try and make my own xD But anyways, that's understandable. I just wanted to know if there was still a chance you'd do more.
